Justice League Comic Con Trailer
Oh my god the Justice League is coming. After Batman Vs. Superman I thought I'd never say those words and mean them in a positive way. A lot of that movie didn't stick with me and a lot of people (and I will revisit and review that when my ultimate edition copy arrives tomorrow) so much so that my girlfriend refused to watch this flat out and I had to practically beg my best friend to sit through this and the Wonder Woman trailer. Fair to say, once she did, she was pleasantly surprised.
I one the other hand was jumping off the walls! Cause ladies and gentlemen this shit was awesome.
So the opening shot is of Bruce Wayne, out trying to recruit Arthur Curry's Aquaman. Quick question, when everyone else was watching this did anyone else think, how the hell did they make Aquaman so badass? Cause holy shit have they pulled this off. He's nothing like I thought Aquaman should be but everything that he needs to be to fit into a world like we have here. And the casting is pure genius. Jason Mamoa looks amazing as Arthur Curry.
Next up you see various shots of different JL members and you're presented to such a fantastic scene where Bruce Wayne is trying to recruit Barry Allen. Probably the only part of this trailer that annoyed me though, and it made me feel like an asshole cause it's a comparatively small mister meaner in terms of the other DC Cinematic Universe misfortunes, but Barry Allen's lightening is not blue. It's yellow! Bruce just throws a batarang and the whole room slows down to Barry's perspective as he casually steps out of the way and grabs it. And his lightening is blue. The suit looks interesting thought, and I'm not hating the version of the character. Ezra Millar seems great and sufficiently different to TV's Grant Gustin and his portrayal so he's not stepping on anyone's tone.
Not a lot of Cyborg but thats okay. Gotta keep some of your cards close to your hand.
And hallelujah praise be to Jesus and all the other gods they haven't fallen into the Dawn of Justice trap. You guys must know the trailer. Some idiot basically chopped up all of the main parts of the movie into one shitty mess of a trailer and that was awful. This doesn't do any of that. It purely is a tease. I'm begging you Warner Bros, don't do that sort of trailer again with this movie!
Another horray for me in this trailer was the humour. Now before I get hounded by those hardcore DC Cinematic Universe fans no I am not wanting this to just morph into another MCU, heavens no. But god alive BvS was a difficult watch. It was too dark to have any sense of realism to it and I'm sorry to break it to you haters out there but as human beings we just ooze laughter and humour. It just happens naturally so it shouldn't be a crime to want a laugh now and then. You're suppose to have fun with cinema. Especially when they involve Superman! The final scene in this trailer is just Aquaman grabbing Bruce and throwing him up against the wall and Bruce says, "Arthur Curry, I hear you talk to fish." FANTASTIC. We need that. I'm sorry but Barry Allen's lines and his to and fro with Bruce was better than all of the dialogue in BvS.
Okay so in short this trailer and the trailer for Wonder Woman have given me hope. Hope that the DCEU can make some good quality stuff and I really can't wait for November next year. Cause this looks sweet as hell!
One last thing, and this is a direct plea to Warner Brothers and DC's film department. I know it's a critical risk if you were to do this after this characters last cinematic outing, but please PLEASE, GIVE ME BLOODY HAL JORDAN. Justice League isn't Justice League without Green Lantern. I'm begging you.
Okay so have yous seen the Justice League trailer? What did you think about it? Has it given you renewed hope in DC movies or just made you run back into the closest? Let me know!
